About Us

The Olive Township Historical Society was formed in 2004 by a group of five people interested in “Preserving History for the Next Generation”. Membership has grown to over 20 members from all over the United States.

Meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the Olive Township Museum/Olive Center School located at 11768 Polk Street. Visitors are welcome.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are needed for the following jobs:

  • Creating Exhibits
  • Set Up and Take Down Exhibits
  • Maintenance & Cleaning of the Museum
  • Helpers for the Newsletter: Olive Leaves
  • Docents to work at the Museum during open hours
  • Event Planners
  • Sign Makers

The OTHS is always looking for volunteers. If interested in volunteering please call a board member.

The OTHS continues to seek old photographs of area schools, churches, businesses, buildings, ephemera, artifacts and antiques related to the past. Please call a Board member if you have something to donate.
